Beware of Flash Flood Danger
This normally-dry wash in the Mojave Desert became a raging torrent in just minutes. As you can see, the sun was shining and it appeared to be a perfect day for riding.
When riding in the desert, keep an eye on the surrounding hills and beware of rain clouds in the distance. Stay away from low-lying areas and never cross running water, no matter how shallow it appears. The water was 8 feet deep at the bridge where this photo was taken!
